Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, my boyfriend has tonsillitis and a doctor has given him penicillin. He is supposed to be flying back to Singapore from the UK tonight but is saying he keeps breaking out in cold sweats and is very weak. Should he be flying? He doesn t know if he should cancel the flight.
He has been suffering from pharyngitis posterior pharynx infection. For that antibiotic course has been prescribed. Myalgia like muscle weakness can occur due to infection.
So I suggest to take rest for five days, complete the antibiotic course and then traveling can be done.
Although traveling is not absolutely contraindicated, I suggest taking rest for at least 3-5 days at least.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
