Is Frequent Heart Palpitations Something To Worry About?
I've been treated for heart palpitations before - I don't have them as frequently as I used to - however - on occassion it will feel as if my heart is like a fish flopping around out of water in my chest. You can see it and feel it very clearly. Yesterday it seemed to happen quite frequently. Today it seems fine. Is this something I should worry about? It doesn't seem like something normal.

Hi,
Racing or pounding heart is highly likely an episode of heart palpitation.
If the heart pounding is a few seconds to few minutes duration without any other symptoms and resolves on its own it does not need medical attention.
But if you experience symptoms longer in duration which accompanies with dizziness your palpitations should be evaluated.
Or if you are taking medications and still experiencing palpitations your medication list should be evaluated as well. Furthermore, try to avoid alcohol or caffeinated drinks which trigger heart palpitations.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
