Is Frequent Urination In An Elderly Man A Concern?
My Dad is 85 years old. Yesterday he was urinated every 10 minutes and had left hand tremors for about 1 hour. My mom called 911 and paramedics said vitals were all fine. He refused to go the hospital. He is feeling much better today, but is still refusing to see a doctor. I am concerned!
Your father may have a urinary infection which may cause frequent urination. It is important to treat urinary infection promptly in the elderly as they may get complicated easily. He will need a urinalysis to confirm if he has an infection or not and if an infection is diagnosed he will need antibiotics. Meanwhile, he needs to drink plenty of fluids.
I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
