Is Ganglion Excision Surgery Advisable In A Patient With Lung Infection?
Hi there just back from the doctors. Have a lower right lung infection. On Amoxil 500mg 3 times a day + flixotide 250 2bd + Solone 5mg 3 tabs twice a day for 7 days. I am scheduled for a ganglion removal from my heal on 5/6. Chances of infection having settled by then and able to proceed with operation? I saw the Anaethiatist last thurs and he said I had a viral infection (has obviously worsened since the a) and it would not be a problem and even a cold would not prevent the surgery. Your thoughts please.

Hi, I think that your anesthesist is right. There seems no contraindication of this surgery in your case. Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Satnarain Bansal, General & Family Physician
