Is Globus Feeling In Throat With Cough Sign Of Laryngeal Reflux?
42 year old female. First noticed swollen cervical lymph nodes (small and movable) in neck three months ago. Persistant globus feeling in throat as well as irritated throat. Ears feel full at times and hear my pulse in my ears. Normal body temperature was always 97ish due to low thyroid (on synthroid). For past 3 months, temperature has remained elevated, anywhere from 99-100.5 everyday. Chest discomfort at times, but not always. Sometimes have a burning sensation in throat. Post nasal drip and throat clearing are also symptoms. History of frequent nose bleeds but none in last 3 months. Finishing 2 weeks of antibiotics (to see if will help decrease lymph node size and eliminate globus feeling....per ENT). Developed a cold-like symptoms (coughing, watery nasal discharge) while taking antibiotics. Only have a few pills left and symptoms are still present. Could it be Laryngeal reflux?
hello, thanks for your query, sore throat or foreign body sensation could be due to post nasal drip of sinusitis or gastric reflex ( partial digested food) of gastro esophagial reflex disease. you need to evaluate with xray pns for sinusitis, dlscopy for voice box( larynx). kindly evaluate with an ent surgeon for farther evaluation and treatment. all the best. take care.
