Is Grade 3 Placenta At 37th Week Of Pregnancy A Cause For Concern?

Hii.. I am 38 weeks pregnant. . I had colour doppler test on 37 week s 2 days (22 July 16) which shows anterior placenta grade iii. It shows EDD as 14/8/16. Whereas the earlier scans show EDD as 8/8/16.My LMP was 04/11/15. It shows Os as closed. I haven t lost my mucus plug yet. My baby has also not dropped yet. I want to know if natural labour ( Vaginal delivery ) is possible in my case. And how long should I wait for labour.

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, there is not much to suggest that you can't undergo normal delivery and near delivery, or EDD like mentioned before, re-examination and scans can better suggest, os opening, and station wise decent in normal pattern or any possibility of delayed or obstructive labor which may lead to c section in that case otherwise normal or hormonal induction may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
