Is Grommet Causing Pain And Hearing Loss In My Son S Ears?

hi,my son had grommets put in his ears 8 years ago,the doctor always said that had fallen out,but i can now clearly see one in his ear he also is getting pain and hearing loss in his ears.will they operate to take the grommit out and should it have been left in that long?

you can always get ear endoscopy done to get this doubt clear of your mind, and grommet stays maximum for 6 to 8 months , your kid might have got infection in middle ear , chance of grommet causing this infection is less, and yes you have to do minor procedure if by any chance it s still there
