My wife is pregnant, her date of delivery is 27-12-2016, on 25th Nov. her HB was count 5.3 and doctor advice for blood transfusion atleast 3 unit. After blood transfusion, Iron injection her HB is 8.8. Her pregnancy is normal, and she taking the iron and calcium tablets. Now i want to know that in the normal condition, the HB is Ok for pregnancy or not????
hemoglobin of 8.8 is not normal for a pregnant female. you still need to take medications for that. if normal delivery blood loss will be some what less compared to Cesarean section,
if she needs to undergo surgery arrange some more packets of blood.
please get evaluated for that severe anemia... consult a general physician
