Is Having Expired Implanon In The Arm A Cause For Concern?
I had my implanon inserted 4-09-08 and it was meant to come out 4-09-11. Its now 14-05-16 and its still in my arm. I m looking to get pregnant soon and am wondering if having it in for so many years after its expired can be bad? I never got my period up until the last 6 months, so I m not sure if that means I could get pregnant now? Please help
You have to remove the Implanon and your periods will return in a few months. If periods are persistently delayed, you have to consult a gynecologist and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care

Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
