Is Having Mild Unequal Distance Between Two Eyes In An Infant Normal?
My 1year old baby is having mild difference in her eyes.. It is not equal in diatance between two Eyes.. And her nose is flat and wide near eyes.. It is present for her from birth.. Doc say its normal and disappear on age after nasal bone lifts. But i was afraid of squit eyes. Plz clear my query
The distance between the inner corner of the left eye and the inner corner of the right eye, is called intercanthal distance. The situation, where intercanthal distance is intensely bigger than the WIDTH of the eye, is called telecanthus. I'm not saying that you baby has telecanthus, it can only be determined after comparing her eye width.
A flat and wide nose near her eyes can be a normal inherited trait.
I would advice a regular follow up of your child, consult a pediatrician to physically examine your child. If the baby is developing normally and achieving all the developmental milestones in the required time frame, there is usually no reason to worry, these physical traits might just be morphological variations.
