Is Having Muscle Spasms And Involuntary Movement Normal With A Shattered Fifth Metatarsal?

I have a shattered fifth metatarsal that happened 6 weeks ago the md is treating with a boot and min weight bearing and I am still having pain and increasind=g muscle spasms in my foot to include involuntary movement and pain in my ankle is this normal
