Is Heart Rate Of 46 A Cause For Concern?

hi my friend has high cholesterol, the last year or so we ve both done a lot of cocaine and mdma. I exercise 3 times a week, but my friend does very little. Last week we did about 30 grams of coke in a week. He went to the doctors for some reason, and his heart rate was 46! we are bot 36 years old. Thst isn t right is it 46? think my resting heart rate is about 80. I m concerned

Hello,

46 is certainly a low heart rate, and especially if he is not an athlete, I would be concerned there was something wrong causing the heart rate to be this low.

It is possible that the cocaine has caused damage to his heart, and especially if he has any symptoms of lightheadedness or dizziness, he may need a pacemaker for his heart.

I would want to get an EKG to look at the rhythm, and then maybe do an ultrasound and stress test of his heart.
