Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my boyfriend has an irregular b.p jumps from 114/75 to 177/119 then back down to 107/60 with a heart rate of 60 in a matter30 min. he takes bp meds. he says his heart felt like it was pounding. no chest pain just racing heart beat and the up and down pressure.. He s a mechanic and works in the heat could this be caused by dehydration?
Let me tell you that there are so many reasons for BP fluctuation such as incorrect doses, irregular timings to take BP medicines, stress, loss of sleep, etc.
So you will have to check out for these factors. So far as a heart rate of 60 is concerned, it may be due to blood pressure medicine itself. I suggest please discuss it with his doctor although there is nothing for much worry.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
