Is Heavily Pulsating Carotid Artery On Neck Abnormal?

I noticed what I think is my carotid artery jumping sporadically today. It has been doing this for at least 2 ours. I checked my pulse rate. It is 65 beats/minute. Should I be concerned about this upsetting jumping on the left side of my neck?
