Is Heavy And Thick Blood Clotting Prior To Menstruation Normal?

when I have my period right before I pee lots of thick blood & small blood clots come out then I pee after im done peeing its still coming out it sinks to the bottom of the toilet the water is not red it scares me cuz I bleed more in the toilet than in my pad this happends every period..
