Hi last month I had done hystroscopy and after 21 days my doctor priscribed Meprate for 5 days. I had my periods on the 8th day after completing the course. On first day it was spotting but on 2nd day there was neither bleeding nor spotting. From 4th day heavy bleeding started. It s my 8th day and still having heavy flow of clots. Is this normal after hystroscopy? Please help. Thanks Sarakshi.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Vaginal bleeding was due to hormonal changes usually happening during monthly cycle. As it was not within 24-48 hours after hysteroscopy procedure, we cannot attribute to it. Instead, it would be related to hormonal changes or the primary diagnosis for which hysteroscopy was carried on.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
