Is Hemochromatosis Hereditary?
Hello, my mother has cirrhosis caused by hematochromasis, and my question is if it can be passed on to me? I am swollen all over, really bad, and signs of mild pulmonary hypertension, hypertension, cops, coronary artery disease, chiari malformation, I am 40 yrs old, my bones hurt so much, Dr.s do not think my hematocrit of 45 to 50 is too high.

As per my clinical experience, there are various reasons for the development of the underlying neurologic conditions. That can be hereditary or secondary to other medical condition. A detailed genetic study is required to rule out congenital hemochromatosis.
