Is Higher Thyroid Levels The Only Reason For Several Miscarriages ?
my wife had four miscarriage in past due to no fetel beat. Every report is normal except thyroid was in upper limit i.e. 4.7 miu/ml. This time my wife had taken thyroid pills and it come down to 3.4. Still this time also she got missed abortions. Pse tell me the other probable reason because as per doctor every thing normal.
Hello, thanks for posting on HCM. Thyroid dysfunction is known to cause pregnancy related problems but the value of her thyroid levels are not so deranged as to cause this problem recurrently. I suspect she might be having what we call as ‘ antiphospholipid syndrome’ (APLA syndrome) which is known to cause unexplained recurrent fetal loss. I would advise you to talk with your gynecologist and get few tests done like- Lupus anticoagulants, anti cardiolipin antibody and Anti-β2 glycoprotein antibody. I hope above given advice helps you to diagnose the exact problem and treat accordingly. If you need any further help from me, kindly revert with me back. I will be more than happy to help you. Thank you
