Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hello,

I carefully read your concern and I can understand your query.

About hypothyroidism I can say that is known factor of infertility and is recommended to be corrected before conception and during pregnancy because even if your wife manages to get pregnant it may be a risk factor for abortion, premature delivery and may have effects at the baby.
The TSH value recommended to get pregnant is 2.5mUI/ml.

If she was a patient at my clinic I would suggest her to start the treatment with levothyroxine for hypothyroidism and after 6 weeks to check the TSH.

Hope the information will help somewhat.

Best wishes,
