Hi, I went through your query. From your description of your girlfriend's problem it does not appear that she has breathing trouble due to some organic or physical cause. It seems she has developed claustrophobia or fear of closed spaces. The hot flushes could simply be another manifestation of her anxiety, in which case they are related. The breathing trouble should automatically be relieved once she gets out of closed spaces. Please ask her if during these attacks she also gets palpitations or a feeling of impending doom which seem likely. Hope this helps. Any further query is welcome.
