Is Hymenal Opening Situated Very Close To The Vulva Normal?
Hello Doctor,
I have trouble with my anatomy. I don't know if my hymenal opening is normal or not. When I look at diagrams, I see different shapes but they are always situated in the middle. My opening is situated at the very bottom of the vulva and looks quite small (less than 1cm of diameter) and there is apparently nothing below, it is juste the very end of the vulva. is this normal ?
I precise that I've never had sexual penetration and I've never used tampons.

The appearance of the hymen can vary from one person to the next. The opening does not have to be located in a specific area.
The exact anatomy is not an important issue and though you are not sexually active there are other ways the hymen may be affected. Simply riding a bicycle or horse can change the structural appearance.
There is nothing to be ashamed of because it will not have any effect on future intimacy.
