Is Hysterectomy Needed For Persistent Lower Abdominal Pain Radiating To Pelvis?

I am having lower right abdomen pain. My gynecologist gave me a D&C but the pain is still there. I thought it was maybe my ovary. Now he wants to give me a hysterectomy. The pain is now radiating toward my back and pelvis area. I don t want to go through the surgery and pay thousands to find out it may be my appendix or intestines. It hurts mostly when I m laying down. I can t sleep on my back anymore. The pain is constant, but sometimes worse than others. Should I get a second opinion from an internalist.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

You can seek help from a gastro-surgeon before planning hysterectomy. A CT scan can be taken to rule out other causes for pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
