I m 42 i really want to have a child. I have multiple fibroids that have been causing heavy bleeding and severe pressure. My periods are regular but getting so much worse. My dr. Has scheduled a surgery to remove them. If my ovaries don t function... And i can t conceive, should I just have a hysterectomy?

Hi,

If you cannot conceive for other reasons, and your fibroid is causing symptoms as you said that is excessive bleeding pressure symptoms, then yes surgery is probably the best option to control these symptoms. Howe'ver there would be no question of conceiving after hysterectomy. So make sure about that.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
