Hello, and I hope I can help you today.
Pregnancy symptoms can vary widely between women and the symptoms that we commonly associate with pregnancy like breast tenderness,
bloating, mood changes, cravings, and spotting can also occur due to PMS.
The most common sign of pregnancy is a missed menstrual period.
So until your period actually is due to arrive and it is late, there is no reason necessarily to expect that your symptoms are caused by pregnancy. If you have no further bleeding around the time that you should have menstruated, then I would perform a urine pregnancy test that you can purchase over-the-counter for a definite answer.
If you are not pregnant, you may be having some hormone imbalances that are resulting in your periods not be consistent every month. The
stress of trying to become pregnant can actually cause irregular menstrual cycles.
80 percent of couples will conceive within a year of trying. So if you did not conceive this cycle, try to relax and give it some time and I am sure you and your partner will have good news soon.
I hope I was able to adequately answer your question today and that my advice was helpful.
Best wishes,
Dr. Brown
