Is Infection Still Present When VDRL (RPR) Is Non Reactive And TPHA Is Positive?

Sir, I had been tested several years ago vdrl 1:4 & tpha 1:16 positive.then taken doxycycline antibiotics and one dose penicillin. But now I have been tested for vdrl(rpr) non reactive but tpha 1:80 positive..is the infection still present??? Please suggest.. Thanks in advance..

TPHA is more sensitive test for syphilis so for all practical purposes, syphilis infection is present when TRPHA is positive.
