Is Insertion Of Larger Plastic Disc In Knee A Simple Surgery?

I had total knee replacement, then lateral release. I feel my knee is too loose. Dr says he can put a larger plastic disc in. He doesn't feel it's too loose but I am the one with pain and lack of balance. Is it a simple surgery? How do you know what size to put in? Dr worried it will be too tight with larger disk
