Is Insulin Bad For Health?
People with diabetes who take insulin, is it bad for them? or is the insulin just needed to manage blood sugar? And the blood sugar (if not managed well) is the real problem.

Hi... There is no difference between taking insulin or oral drugs... They are given only to control the blood sugars.. Infact insulin has better hypoglycemic control than oral drugs... Diabetes is considered as a serious problem when there are complications secondary to it or when the diabetes is uncontrolled and not based on the need for insulin.. Of course the only disadvantage being the prick.. Otherwise it is completely safe...

To put it in a different way, Insulin is the most important substance or chemical produced in the body. Every organ system in body need Insulin for its function. It Insulin is deficient, it causes lots of problem which are complications of diabetes.
Insulin is usually needed in the later stages of Type 2 diabetes, when self Insulin production decreases and tablets alone cannot control the sugars.
In Type 1 diabetes, Insulin is needed from the very first day, as the production suddenly stops.
