Is Intake Of Microlite Pill While Having Smoking Habit Safe?

A doctor, not my regular GP won't prescribe me Microlite pill as I am overweight by about 28lbs and I smoke approx 5 cigarettes a day. This is the first person to refuse to do so in the 10yrs I've been on the pill, I am 32. My blood pressure today was also 130/70 (I think) but I ran round to doctors as i was running late.
