Is Intense Weight Loss Diet Plan Advisable?
My friend joined a weight loss program designed to lose 20 lbs in six weeks.She worked out ate mostly protein shakes, cleanser drinks and fruits and vegetables. The seventh day she fasted for over 12 hours.She developed severe fever of over 103. It lasted for 4 days. She went for blood tests as well as went to the hospital. She fails to tell the doctors about this diet she is on.Her blood test caused concerns. They want her to see a hematologist. Her platelet levels are all messed up.She wants to continue the program. I feel that this could be a major health concern. Am I over reacting?

I don't think that this dieting programme should have caused concern. I would suspect only the kind of protein she is using. Also, a blood chemistry needs to be done despite the blood count and formula.
