Is Internal Bleeding A Effect Of Birth Control?

Hi, i have been on the miraina iud birth control for about six months. I am always having to buy new underwear because of this dark brown discharge. I ve read things about internal bleeding and am worried it could be that? Or does this happen with this birth control? Is there something I m not doing to prevent this?
