Is It A Common Post-stroke Symptom To Be Resting In Bed For Long Hours?

My husband had a stroke last June 2013, no physical symptoms but some memory issues. He is 61 years young. He drives an hour to and from work daily, works mostly behind a desk. After a healthy dinner, he is usually in his recliner by 6:30 or 7:00 p.m. and falls asleep. He eventually gets in bed and has to wake at 4:15 a.m. for work. On the weekends he will sleep about 12 hours or more. I figure he needs to sleep so I let him. He used to pop out of bed way before me and be rested. Is this a common post-stroke symptom?

since he is able to do his duty and other work normally , excessive sleepiness may not be related to stroke.
