Is It A Matter Of Concern If Having Braxton Hicks And Head First At 6 Months Of Pregnancy?
im 26 weeks pregnant with my second child and there not even a year apart. my little girl is only 8months old and im 6months pregnant again. my little girl was born at 32 weeks and 3pounds. with my second baby im already having braxton hicks and he is head first. Should i be worried?
Hi, I have gone through your question. Previous preterm labour and delivery( before 37 weeks of pregnancy) increases the risk of preterm delivery in next pregnancy also. Braxton hicks contractions which are not associated with pain are harmless and not associated with preterm delivery until the severity, intensity and the frequency of these contractions are increased. Fetus with head towards the maternal pelvis is a favourable position, but if the head has descended deep in the pelvis, then there are much higher chances of preterm delivery. I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, investigated and treated accordingly. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Regards, Dr Deepti verma
