Is It Advisable To Consume Food With Burnt Plastic In It?

Is it ok if i got a little plastic on food? I accidentally melted food packaging from removing my skillet off the heat onto the counter where the packaging was. The skillet took most of the bag and the food looked untouched i transfered the food to a ziplock bag and cleaned my skillet. Is the food going to be harmful? I didnt see anything on the food and i didnt smell burnt plastic on there neither.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is not advisable to consume food with plastic but on the other hand, you do not need to worry about the episode you had. It happened only once and the amount of plastic you may have had is so small, nothing serious is going to happen. You are going to be fine, relax and do not worry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
