ENT Specialist 's  Response
hi and thanks for the query,
it is advisable to avoid flying during ear infection.
but if it cant be avoided then you have to take a few precautions.
instill 3 drops of decongestant nose drops like otrivin 3 times a day for 1 day before flying and upto 2 days after flying.
drink plenty of water. and do steam inhalation 4 times daily.
avoid airconditioning and cold foods.
if his ear is discharging he probably requires local antibiotic drops so please see an ENT for a prescription.
regards,
dr Rajkishori.
