Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have heart disease and have had two stents put in,my heart doctor has had me on efient for a couple years to lower the risk of clogged arteries, the problem i have is my doctor canceled my blood thinner with out even talking to me,i told him i wanted to stay on the medicine to prevent any further problems my last appointment six months ago,he was alright with that, was he right for doing that.
Hi, After stent implantation you need to take your Efient (prasugrel) for two years. It is effective only for two years, and after that it should be withdrawn. So your doctor acted correctly withdrawing your medication. Now you are safe without Efient. So I would advise you do not worry! Wish you good health
