Is It Advisable To Take Glimestar M1 And Metatime 500 For Diabetes Lifelong?
We recently detected high sugar level for my mom (52 yrs). Local doctor prescribed her to take Glimestar M1 (One per day in the morning) and Metatime 500 (One per day in the evening). After 3 months of these medicines her sugar level is come to normal. Local doctor prescribed these two medicines to her for lifetime. Please tell me if this is the correct medicine and dosage. Thanks
Hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.
Sir/Madam initially when the diabetes is diagnosed, basic doses of drugs are prescribed and checked the effective dose of drugs which can control the sugar levels. They are continued as long as effective in controlling sugar levels. Life long if effective.
But some times with time, there is need to increase the doses or addition of new drugs as the insulin capacity still reduced. Hence regular check up of blood sugar levels and exercise and proper diet are necessary along with medication.
Hope this guides you. For any other queries you can write to us. we will be happy to help you. Thank you. Dr Phanindra Dulipala Diabetologist.
