Is It Advisable To Take Valium 5mg Thrice A Day For Severe Anxiety?

My husband has been prescribed Valium for major anxiety in addition to aripiprazole to substitute lexapro. It has been 2 weeks and he is very slurry, tired and slow. I'm concerned of the side effects. the dosage of the Valium is 5 (2 in the am) and 5 (1) in the afternoon. Follow up appt is February 22, but I feel that the Valium is too much. Can you offer me advise?

Valium is Diazepam and is a Benzodiazepine drug. Valium is long acting drug and can be taken in 5 mg three times a day without worries.
