Hello,

No, it is not recommended to take medicines for schizophrenia if you are not diagnosed with it. Blank episodes can occur due to low blood pressure, low blood glucose, extreme dehydration, oxygen restriction, to much alcohol consumption, drug addictions, etc. Some medical conditions may also cause blackouts like fainting episodes, epileptic seizures, psychogenic seizures, temporary memory loss caused by a fall in blood pressure (syncope) is a more likely cause of nonalcoholic-induced blackouts.

You are suggested to get your vitals normal. Take plenty of water so that sodium, potassium depletion gets compensated (body electrolyte system), maintain your BP and blood glucose level at all cost. Take balanced, home made nutritious food and avoid addictions if any. Exercise, do regular walking. Since you experienced paranoid behaviour last month, assess your behaviour, if its normal, no worries but if you think you are not fine you are suggested to consult a Psychiatrist or Counselor to help diagnose Paranoid personality disorder, they will take your detailed history ( childhood, school, work, relationships), etc. Then you will be given a conservative treatment plan that will include combination of talk therapy & psychotherapy.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
