Is It Advisable To Undergo Tooth Extraction During Pregnancy?
i am 24 weeks pregnant and i have a scheduled wisdom tooth extraction tomorrow at 11 am. I am terrified of needles in my mouth. Will they be able or allowed to give me a general anesthetic? They know that i am pregnant and they have a note from my OB stating that its a medical emergancy to get them removed.
As per your complain firstly I would like to tell you that any dental procedure especially surgical is not indicated to be carried out in pregnancy specially in the first and third trimester of pregnancy.
Any emergency dental treatment can be carried out in the second trimester that is fourth to sixth month of pregnancy after assurance from the gynaecologist.
As the dental surgeon has the consent from your gynaecologist there must be prevailing emergency which led to removal of wisdom tooth during pregnancy and as you are in the second trimester it is considerably safer time for the dental treatment..
You need to keep yourself calm as the local anaesthesia will very well help in painless treatment.
Hope your query is solved..
