Is It Alright To Have Oral Sex With Genital Herpes Partner?
my new Partner just told me he has genital herpes from another Partner years ago and he wanted to be honnest with me before intercourse,, he's currently on valtrex without outburst since 7 month now. Of course since i want to stay with him i will use condom all the time even with no outburst but my quesstion is: can he make oral sexe to me since his mouth and my vagina are good?
There is always a small risk that he will transmit the herpes to you, even if he gives you oral sex. However, if he stays on the Valtrex, and if you always use condoms, and he only gives you oral sex when he does not have an outbreak, then the risk is very very small. However, it will still be possible to transmit the disease even if you take all the precautions I just mentioned. It is very good that he was honest with you. Many couples with this problem choose to take all the precautions and have a happy normal sex life. I wish you two the best of luck. I hope this answer was helpful to you.
