Is It Bad Not To Have Food For Long Time In High Blood Sugar ?

Hi my blood sugar level is 155 and I have had no food or anything to drink since about 9pm last night...I am at work and it is 624am. is this bad?

Hi,

Welcome to HCM.
Fasting Blood sugar level of 155 is high and needs through investigation to confirm or exclude diabetes.
You will need to repeat fasting blood sugar on three different occasions and if it still shows above normal values, then you will need to do Glucose Challenge test and if the diagnosis of Diabetes is confirmed then you will have to be started on anti-diabetic treatment.

Hi,thanks for query.The normal blood sugar at any time means random should be below 150 mg/dl.In your case it is 155,this is accptable.Please get your regular sugar fasting and 2 hours after means after about 3 weeks.This will give complete idea.You have not mentioned your age,both age and family history are important in deciding your risk for diabetes.
