Is It Contradicting To Use Novelon While Trying To Conceive?

I am a 29 yr old woman, weigh 55kgs. I have a 37 day cycle for the last 2 months. i consulted a gynaecologist and she advised me to use novelon when my cycle starts this time (in a week). but i went to her because i was planning for conception.isn't it contradicting to use novelon while trying for pregnancy?

Hi and welcome,

Yes it is contradictory. We prefer to use simple progesterone like duphaston after ovulation if the female is trying to conceive. So kindly discuss this with your doctor.

I suggest that you get an ultrasound and ovulation study as well as a semen analysis of your partner. If there are no problems with these then start folic acid tablets and keep track of ovulation using kits. Try to keep contact on fertlie days. If there is no progress in 3 months see your doctor for further evaluation.
