Is It Dangerous To Have Swelling After Smacked On Forehead?
I ran into a metal bunk bed this weekend and smacked my forehead. It got cut open and it took 2 hours to stop the bleeding. This happened on Saturday evening. Since then the swelling has got worse each day. This morning the swelling has spread to my nose and into my right eye. I still have swelling in my forehead, but as I said each day more swelling appears further down. It does hurt somewhat but I am not dizzy and I can see fine. Please advise on what to do or if I should worry.
Hi, From history it seems that due to sharp injury there might be having more bleeding or small vein is cut. Due to bleeding there might be having big hematoma giving rise swelling on forehead and now gravitated down to eyes, nose. Apply ice pack for 10 minutes for 2-3 times a day for few days. Go for one antibiotic medicine course prevent infection. Ok and take care.
