Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic
Genital herpes usually presents with discrete, fluid filled lesions which may rupture to form erosions; there is associated pain, burning sensation. Itching may be there but it never a prominent symptom of genital herpes.
A person with herpes is usually in obvious discomfort and complains of burning sensation as urine passes over the sores.
Nevertheless, since you had sex with a new partner therefore that is enough reason for you to get tested for STI's; you must get tested for all STI's including herpes and others like HIV,
syphilis,
gonorrhea and chalmydia etc.
Testing for herpes can be taken up earliest at 2 weeks and screening for HIV and syphilis (
VDRL) can be done earliest at 1 month after sexual contact.
Moreover if you experience any
vaginal discharge, ulcers, erosions, warts, growth etc you must immediately consult your doctor.
Regards
Always practice safe sex with a condom!
