Is It Good To Take Vancomycin Drop For Eye Infection?

I have been applying vancomycin drops at one drop per hour, every hour, to my left eye, that is infected. Five minutes later, taking tobramycin drops at one drop her hour, every hour, during the day. At night, just every three hours. I start up again on the hourly at about 9 Am. When I apply the drops, there is a strong burning sensation, my eye is still red, there s some white mucus -- an itchy burning feeling as soon as the vancomycin hits the eye. But then it goes away. I m taking hydrocodo 10/325 about every 5 - 6 hours, if needed, with maybe an Advil in between for the pain, if needed. I have been applying these drops to my left eye since December 25th. Is my reaction to the drops normal?

Hi..
Thanks for writing to HCM..
If you are taking the drops under doctor's supervision and following up regularly there is no problem with using those medications..
At your follow up visits your doctor will decide how long to continue the drops..
It is common to have some burning sensation after the instillation of the drops.. Nothing to worry about it..
Take care..
