Is It Harmful To Overuse Gloves And Antibacterial Soap?

I am concerned with the over use of gloves and antibacterial soap and alcohol hand cleansers. I feel it doesn t let our immune system be exposed to enough regular day to day bacteria etc. for our bodies to develop its resistance. t\Therefore, we are at higher risk for disease pathogens due to low resistance.

Hi

We do not get exposed to bacteria only by contact with the hands, but also through the air with our nose and mouth. Of course, it is better to wash hands then use disinfectant because with the disinfectant the bacteria die and still stay on the skin. The soap wipes out the bad bacteria and the good bacteria that the skin normally have colonise it again right after to protect it. Low resistance is caused more by use of antibiotics when we take them for virus infections.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
