Is It Menopause Causing Period Like Symptoms Post Tubal Ligation ?
I am 47 years old. Had a tubaligation 19 years ago. I have not gotten my period for 21/2 months now. I experienced pms symptoms both months. Last month I experience the symptoms in 2 two different occasions for a week at a time. I only had a little brown discharge as if it was the end of my period. Nothing more up to the present. My breasts are sore right now as was the past two months, slight cramping, leg pain, sleepless nights (insomnia), tirednes during the day even if I get up at 11am. Should I do a pregnancy test or is this normal for perimenopause?
I think that the first thing that is required for this condition is a pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy. If it's negative, I would suggest you to have your FSH, LH and serum prolactin and thyroid profile test done. FSH and LH levels will be high and your estrogen and progesterone levels will be low if there is menopause. Start evening Primrose tablets for 10 days.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
