Is It Necessary To Fast When Test Esophagus?

I have a test tomorrow at 1 p m. inserting a probe?? in the nose for esophageal test,,,,and I guess 24 hrs later I go to have it removed. What is the latest I can eat, have water, coffee??? Could I have those at 5 a.m tomorrow so I will be done eating for 7 hrs??

Thanks for posting your query .

A minimum of 8 hours fasting is required for esophageal endoscopy else there is a possibility of Vomiting food particles during the procedure .

So I advise you to have a late night dinner at around 12 or 1 and be nil orally after that .
