Is It Necessary To Take Five Day Antibiotic Regime For Penis Infection?

I have a minor penis infection from intercourse without condom. No discharge but discomfort when sitting. No discomfort when peeing. I took 4 cefixime 100mg capsules 12 hours ago. Do I also need to be on a five day antibiotic regime to knock out the infection? have cefixime capsules, levofloxacin hydrochloride tablets, and azithromycin tablets. Hamish , Shenzhen, china

Hi Hamish, you should have started with antibiotics only after confirming the infection. However, since you have started with antibiotic, it is advisable to complete the course. Any antibiotic you take for any infection in the body needs to complete the course, otherwise you give a chance for the organisms to develop resistance. Then the antibiotic looses its capacity to fight the organism. Lets not give chance for such a thing. So you are advised to complete the course for 5 days.
