Is It Normal For BY-STO Powder To Cause A Burning Sensation When Treating Balanitis?
hi, my boyfriend was prescribed fluconazole and by stop powder to treat balinitis around the head of his penis. When he first applied the powder it was very painful and he said it caused a burning sensation.is this normal? He did have quite. Bit of inflammation
Pain or burning after applying medication is concerning. BY-STO powder can sting or burn briefly especially on first application. But it is concerning when burning lasts more than 5–10 minutes after application, if the area becomes redder, swollen, or blistered or when he develops peeling, cracking, or increased sensitivity and if burning worsens with each application.
If it is so he is advised to stop using BY-STO. Keep the affected area clean. He can apply antifungal cream like plain Clotrimazole 1% or Miconazole without steroids or antibiotics. He is advised to keep the area clean and dry and avoid soaps or harsh products. Ideally, he should get relieve after the use of clotrimazole cream. He is advised to stay away from masturbation or sex till the affected organ heals completely.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
